The Alberta Association of Insurance Adjusters Northern Chapter put on a terrific event for a great cause – The Town of Slave Lake Relief Fund.

Approximately two hundred and ninety guests came together for the annual AAIA charity ball at the Sutton Place Hotel in downtown Edmonton. John Sparks from Slave Lake Recovery gave a presentation regarding the fateful events of May 14th and the fires that ravaged Slave Lake and about the clean-up and recovery efforts.

Upon each of the tables within the banquet room stood a centerpiece of pink orchids submerged in a cylindrical vessel with a candle floating above. These same centerpieces upon gold damask tablecloths accented cocktail tables near the bar and in the hallway.

Following a tasty dinner of veal and yorkshire pudding with a dessert of chocolate mousse cake, draws for the raffle prizes were held. This year’s raffle prizes were a $500 travel voucher and a 42″ Sharp LCD tv. There were also a number of great door prizes such as an iPad, a cuisinart grill, coffee makers, and numerous large food baskets, to name a few.

Our Flashworks Photobooth was on hand in the Winter Lake room to entertain the guests during cocktail hour and into the evening after supper. What a wild bunch! The booth was in use the entire evening with a substantial line-up for quite a while. And Tarcy from Diamond Sound did an excellent job of keeping the energy flowing on the dance floor throughout the night.

Thanks to the entire executive of the AAIA for their hard work in organizing a wonderful event for a great cause. Thanks for inviting us to be a part of it!
