Tom and Jen celebrated their wedding reception at the Polish Veteran’s Hall in north Edmonton. This reception was for all their friends and family who were unable to celebrate with them at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Upon entering the hall, the theme of yellow, silver, and blue was immediately evident. Guests were able to find their seating arrangement according to silver tags with their names and table name. There was also a table for gifts which featured 3 suitcases stacked on each other with the topmost one open, into which guests could place their cards.

In the dinning room, each table was draped with a yellow tablecloth and named after a different location that Jen and Tom have visited in their travels such as Fairmont, Seattle, Bangkok, Rome, Paris, Brussels, Athens, and New Orleans amongst others. In addition to a photo in a blue frame of each location, the centerpieces consisted of a glass bowl filled with sand, sea shells, and a round tea light candle, surrounded by glass beads. And each place setting had a silver napkin laid across it with a small white shell delicately placed in the center.

Near the dance floor stood a small square table showcasing Jen and Tom three tiered wedding cake topped with a large “R” letter and blue and yellow bows. However, this was no ordinary wedding cake. It was a giant nanaimo bar with each tier being a different flavour. The top was the usual nanaimo bar flavour, the middle was peanut butter, and the base was mint flavoured. Yum!

The family style dinner was absolutely superb and the speeches were fun and entertaining. Afterwards, a slideshow showed Tom and Jen’s younger days, as well as images of their wedding in the Dominican Republic. It was cute to watch the numerous children that sat down on the dance floor in front of the screen laugh at the many humourous images.

Shortly after the slideshow, AJ and Mario from Revolution DJ Services kicked off the rest of the evening. They kept the dance floor full with a wide range of songs from all genres and eras, and took requests as well.

Young and old alike had a great time with the photobooth. The props were a big hit and everyone enjoyed reviewing their print-outs and pasting their strips into Tom and Jen’s album. This album was on a table dressed in yellow and silver drapery and which was accented with a large glass goblet of sand and shells, and a vintage style suitcase containing tape and pens so that guests could writing the newly weds their well-wishes.

Tom and Jen, Flashworks Photobooth would like to wish you all the blessings in the world as you continue your journey together. Thanks for including us in your special day!
