Iris and Dan

July 14th, 2012 marked Iris and Dan’s big wedding day and what a beautiful day it was.

Taking place at the Edmonton Expo Centre inside the Alberta Ballrooom, the pace started picking up as family and friends alike, started to gather themselves and mingle in anticipation for the spectacular night to come.

As guests began finding their seats they started chanting the names of the “misplaced” bride and groom, as bridemaids and groomsmen led the young couple to the head table in order to formally kick off the night.

Putting a different spin to the traditional wedding schedule, the reception started off with Dan and Iris’s first dance as a married couple, immediately proceeding to the cutting of the cake, and thank you’s to out of town guests, especially those from Hong Kong! It was a change welcomed by the guests because after the formal events were out of the way, guests could indulge themselves in a buffet of delicious food, such as Mediterranean chicken, ricotta cheese lasagna, steak and much more.

As excellent as the meal was, it was second to the wedding favours of the night, which was a “make it yourself” candy bar. Piled with delicious Asian style candies and gummy flavored favorites, the candy bar was emptied within 30 minutes into the night!

After 2 hours of dining, it was time to burn off some calorie, as guests enjoyed themselves with the Flashworks Photobooth and with some wedding-style games, a notable one being a basketball game where participants had to try and score into a moving basket costume worn by one of the Groom’s friends.

As games ended, the night transitioned into speeches from elders and close friends. It was a recollection from many perspectives on the life and times of the newlywed couple, both before they met and after they began their journey together.

Following a slideshow depicting the growth of our special couple from the baby days to present day, the formal reception ended with a heartfelt and emotional speech from the newlyweds, who thanked the important people in their lives, then reminisced about the life events that have led them up to this point. Afterwards, it was then off to the photobooth and dancing as the party lasted into the early morning.

Flashworks Phootbooth would sincerely like to thank Iris and Dan for letting us be a part of such a special day in their lives. We wish you the best of luck and love in the future.
