Surrounded by the pristine surroundings of Jasper National Park and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, representatives of the home building industry came together to celebrate excellence in their industry.

Under the tall vaulted ceiling of the Great Hall, guests gathered in fine evening attire for the cocktail hour. As everyone sipped their drinks, they enjoyed each other’s company and camaraderie. Closer to the dinner hour, a line formed as people made their way into the Beauvert Room. Inside, the numerous round tables featured a white and magenta flower arrangement while each place setting has the base of an awards program neatly folded into the cloth napkin. Center to the room was an elevated stage where four tall lengths of white fabric were lit from below and were interspersed with two crystal chandeliers and two flower arrangements.

After a delightful dinner, the official program commenced. The volunteers and judges were thanked and the evening’s special guests were announced. As each category of award was introduced, images of the various developments nominated for that specific award were shown on the large screens around the room to musical accompaniment. Once the winner was announced, representatives from the respective company came up to the stage to be presented with their award and to have their photos taken. It all had the feel of an Oscar-type event, just for a different industry.

Once all of the awards were awarded, the guests made their way out into the Great Hall where easels displayed large plaques of the winners. In the centre of the hall stood curved tables laden with hundreds of glasses of champagne that surrounded a large ice sculpture bearing the RBC insignia, the platinum sponsor of the event. Here, the guests continued to mingle and use the photobooth. Some even came in to take photos with their awards.
