The Bissell Centre hosted “Bissellebration”, a Gala Dinner and Auction on Saturday, May 14th at the Sutton Place Hotel. While we were setting up the photobooth, there was a power-outage. This potential problem was dealt with quickly and professionally by hotel and Bissell Centre staff – extra candles were placed around the venue, and flashlights were provided to volunteers. Luckily, the power came back on just as the event was beginning. Whew!

The venue looked fantastic, decorated with balloons and lovely orchid centre pieces, which some lucky guests took home. There was a great silent auction, and an exciting live auction, hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist, Jon Montgomery. Jon won the Gold Medal in the men’s skeleton event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Guests and hotel staff had a great time dressing up and having their photo taken in our photobooth, including Jon Montgomery!
