Flashworks Photobooth was honoured to provide their services for the 2012 Relay for Life.

This year’s Relay for Life was the 11th annual event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and their mission to “celebrate” the survivors, to “remember” those lost to cancer, and to “fight back” to put an end to the disease.

For this year’s Survivor’s Receptions, the curling rink area at the Saville Sports Centre and Foote Field was set-up with about 50 round tables, featuring bundles of floating yellow balloons, a sprinkling of flower blossoms, and a box of tissue. At the east end of the room was a stage flanked by three vertical banners reading “celebrate”, “remember”, and “fight back”. As guests arrived to the venue, each survivor in a attendance was asked to sign a “Celebrating Survivors” banner after they registered and received a bright yellow Survivor’s t-shirt.

Hosting this year’s event was Mike McGuire of CISN Country. Also taking the stage during the commemoration were “Lomani Mundi”, an Edmonton-based women’s world percussion group, and “B Cuz”, a quartet of young ladies consisting of 3 sisters and 1 cousin. These two groups performed during a tasty dinner and in between a few heart wrenching personal accounts from cancer survivors.

Our Flashworks Photobooth was on hand to offer souvenirs of the event to all in attendance. People lined up to don our goofy accessories and have their pictures snapped. Everyone had a good time with it and many returned for multiple sessions of photobooth fun. We had a great time and enjoyed offering our services for such a worthwhile cause.
